Catherine Bloomer and Austen Osworth successfully proposed a panel to the American Writers & Writing Programs conference. In the Spring of 2019, WriteOn traveled to Portland, Oregon, to present WriteOn: How to Begin and Grow a Community-Oriented Writing Fellowship. Our Spring 2019 Fellow Kiri Milburn joined the Directors to answer questions about our program. The panelists discussed pedagogical theory, how to bring a diversity of voices into the classroom through readings, development through grants and the New York City philanthropic culture, and the nature and responsibility of a literary program to its larger community.
